As with any new school year, comes a new class, and as of late, the new tradition of starting a class Blog. The Logan school functions, with each student taking a job in the classroom, and this year, myself, and two other students have been given the responsibility of letting the world know about our class adventures. I would like to welcome you to the Max’s Class Blog, and hope that you come back again.
As students arrived on campus the morning of August 22, they were greeted by the welcoming presence, the fabulous new building, and of course, Patti, the dean of students, founder of the school, and W.O.W (Wise Old Woman) donning an outrageous costume complete with the sound box/megaphone. As eight thirty came around, the students settled into their classes, and the first day of school activities began. Our class activities the first day included team building exercises (and a lot of blindfolding) and a beginning to our class unit of words that have changed history. We reflected on the quote “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” By Mahatmas Gandhi.
Soon enough, the first full week of school rolled around, and with it came our first agendas, our matrix packets, and math (duhn duhn duhhhhhhhhhn). But first, Monday. Monday magic began the week, and with it came a flood of magical power that could only be hindered by an inability to complete the trick, which some of us occasionally couldn’t.
From Magic, to agendas we go. We received our agendas, and were relieved to find that it wasn’t yet a full week (no matrixes or full units) but we had, however, to start our “quests”. This is the assignment every year that leads us to discover our unit(s) for the year. With a variety of topics from robots to architecture, and horse whispering to Enigmatology, we are sure that the knowledge gained in this class, and the selection of projects hung about the room would be astounding.
Well, if you have read this far, I would like to thank you on behalf of Max’s class, and we certainly hope that you come back, to visit our Blog, and see some of the wonderful happenings, going about in our learning environment.
